My girlfriend refused to come home with me for Christmas to meet my parents.

Then I found out she'd listed herself for rent on OnlyFans.

She kept preaching show me the money, show me the love, demanding I pay for her youth and affection.

Me:

...

Seeing the ad online left me stunned.

My girlfriend, Chloe, had posted this incredibly sexy photo of herself, advertising as a "rental girlfriend" on OnlyFans.

She claimed to be an Ivy League-educated sugar baby. For $20,000 during the Christmas break, you could take her home.

She'd be the perfect fake girlfriend, charming your parents and dodging all those awkward "when are you getting married?" questions from relatives.

The comments underneath were filled with lewd jokes and propositions C

"Is this renting, or selling?"

"Just renting? No extra services included?"

Meanwhile, Chloe was casually brushing me off C

"I just don't wanna meet your parents over Christmas, okay? I don't know them! We've never even met! Showing up out of the blue would be so awkward.

Plus, Christmas means lots of relatives visiting. All those overbearing aunts and cousins sizing me up? Just thinking about it gives me the creeps.

And your hometown is so far away! The trip alone sounds exhausting..."

Before, I would have understood. But now...

I screenshot her OnlyFans ad and sent it to her. "Really?" I texted coldly.

"So, going home with some random stranger isn't exhausting? Meeting his parents and relatives isn't awkward? Is that it?"

Caught red-handed, Chloe lashed out.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?"

"He's paying! It's not the same as you getting a free ride!

If you want me to go home with you, fine! Give me twenty grand! I'll cancel my other client right now and go with you. Deal?"

Faced with her aggression, I stayed silent.

My silence just made her scoff. "Typical man. All high and mighty with lectures when it doesn't cost you anything. The moment money's involved, you clam up."

"Haven't you heard? 'show me the money, show me the love.' You wanna take me home? You wanna marry me? Then pony up! Show me you're serious with cash!

Otherwise, shut the hell up! If you're not paying, don't block my bag. Look at Vivian! That's what an independent, clear-headed woman looks like. I just got screwed, stuck with you forever."

I frowned. "You think Vivian's 'independent and clear-headed'?"

Chloe didn't hesitate. "Duh! Look at her! She doesn't have to work, has endless cash, jetsetting, buying designer everything just to feel good, doing whatever she wants! And me?"

I laughed coldly. "Seems you don't know where her money really comes from."

Vivian used to be Chloe's coworker.

She was less educated but pretty.

She worked as a receptionist but quitted pretty fast.

Now she was some big-shot influencer, decked out in designer labels, flawless makeup, sharing her 'wisdom' online "Girls, show me the money, show me the love!" or "Smart women know how to make men pay!"

She branded herself as this boss babe, raking in followers, mostly young girls.

Chloe was one of them.

She idolized Vivian, constantly whining to me: I have a better degree, I'm hotter than Vivian, so why am I stuck grinding at some 9-to-5 while she lives the high life?

She blamed it all on me.

Because Vivian dated a string of rich, powerful men, who dropped serious cash on her without blinking.

But I was just a loser holding her back, telling her to budget, offering zero emotional or material value.

Seeing me challenge her idol Vivian sent Chloe over the edge. "So what? Our looks are part of our value! She didn't steal anything!

She uses her skills to make men spend! How is that not independent and clear-headed?"

Finally, Chloe laid down her ultimatum C

"Either pay up, or I'm spending Christmas with someone else!"

I transferred Chloe the $20,000.

She accepted it gleefully, chirping, "You should've just paid up sooner! I was just testing you, seeing where your head was at! I totally wasn't asking for money! Hang on, I'll cancel that other client right now!"

I said flatly, "Don't bother. We're done."

Chloe froze. "What... what do you mean?"

I stared at our chat history.

Each message felt like a punch.

The person on the other end wasn't the girl I'd loved anymore.

She was unrecognizable.

I took a deep breath and laid it out. "Chloe, do you know why I wanted you to meet my parents? Because I loved you. I wanted to marry you. But that only works if you loved me too."

"But now I don't feel any love from you. I sent you that money for one reason: to show you I can afford it. I'm not breaking up over money.

I scrimped and saved, worked my ass off, all for our future. But now, you're not worth it. So, we're done."

Me initiating the breakup infuriated her.

She completely lost it. "Jason! Who the hell do you think you are, dumping me?"

"I should be dumping you! I wasted my youth, my love on you since college! How many good years does a woman have? You think twenty grand makes up for that?"

She demanded 0-000,000 as compensation for her lost youth and love.

I actually laughed, the irony cutting deep.

"Was I just a prop in this relationship? Did only you invest anything? Did only you lose your youth? Just because I'm a guy, I owe you?"

I paused. "Even if we go by your logic, these past five years, I was the one spending, wasn't it? I've spent way more than a hundred grand on you. Want to settle accounts? Maybe pay me back first?"

Chloe went silent. I delivered the final blow.

"Since we're broken up, you need to move out. Come get your stuff. You're moving out."

...

After college, Chloe landed a job paying about $60K a year.

It wasn't nearly enough for her lifestyle.

She was obsessed with the fake glamour online, chasing influencers, trying to curate this "effortlessly chic" life. Her entire paycheck went towards designer bags, luxury skincare just to maintain her online persona.

Her crappy apartment didn't photograph well, hurting her online engagement. So, to match her "chic fairy" fantasy, she blew her budget and rented a villa with a yard.

How to cover it? Obviously, she came to me.

She'd spin elaborate arguments, layer guilt trips "If you really loved me, you'd give me the life I deserve!" or "The true test of a man's love is how much he spends on his woman!"

She was a sucker for trends too. The "first fall latte," the "must-have winter bag," the "symbol of love" strawberry tower C all demanded. If I didn't comply, I didn't love her enough, failed as a boyfriend, offered no "emotional value."

Honestly, I was exhausted long ago.

Chloe had drifted so far away. I was naive, thinking if I just met her demands, she'd stay.

Now I get it: desire has no bottom.

This relationship had drained me. I couldn't play this game anymore.

The day Chloe came to pack, she brought Vivian.

Vivian was a bit older than us but dressed younger than most teenagers. Her makeup was heavy, layers of powder making her look calculating. Even her smile seemed fake.

She gave me a once-over. "Chloe, this is your boyfriend?"

Chloe shot me a dirty look. "Ex-boyfriend! Haven't you heard? A decent ex should be as quiet as the dead.

Everyone makes mistakes when they're young. Consider it a momentary lapse in judgment... like getting bitten by a dog."

I smiled coolly. "Exactly. So, could you move out? A good ex should be as quiet as the dead. Don't contact me again."

Chloe left with her "bestie," Vivian.

Right after, she posted celebratory pics on social media "Officially single! Eligible gentlemen, slide into my DMs!"

Her friends flooded the comments "Queen!" "Slay!" "Pick me!" C feeding her ego.

She even screenshot the comments and sent them to me, bragging "See? I'm in demand! I was stupid before, clinging to you.

Now I know better.I can find better after leaving you. Thanks for not marrying me!"

I replied, "Cool. Hope you find happiness."

Then I blocked her.

That night, the police called. They needed me to come down.

Chloe had met up with a guy she found online for her "rental girlfriend" gig.

He'd said he needed to "inspect the goods" in person before committing. Chloe, buying it completely, happily went.

Turned out he was a creep.

He pressured her to drink, got handsy, wouldn't back off.

Chloe panicked, managed to escape, and tried calling me.

But she found out she was blocked.

So, she got the cops to call me, asking me to come deal with her mess.

I was silent for a moment. "Sorry, Officer. We broke up. Not my responsibility to clean up her mess."

My refusal made Chloe snap.

She grabbed the phone. "Jason! What the hell?! Even if we broke up, after all this time, don't you have any feelings for me? Even as just a man, seeing a woman in trouble, can't you help? So petty! What kind of man are you?!"

Chloe and the so-called "rich guy" were making things difficult for the cops. Eventually, I went.

Vivian was there too.

And she clearly knew the "rich guy."

She looked pissed that Chloe had gotten him arrested.

"Chloe, what the hell? Trying to ruin my business already? Chase is a good friend! He's loaded, powerful, experienced with women! You think he'd grope you?

We're all adults here playing the game! You overreacted, made a huge scene! How am I supposed to face Chase now? How can we stay friends?"

Tears streamed down Chloe's face. "But... he really did..."

Chloe said the guy touched her leg and tried to take her clothes off.

Vivian just rolled her eyes. "That's it? I thought he dragged you to bed! It was just a touch! You want to be a prude? Then get out of this game! Go back to your boring office girl life!"

Seeing Chloe bury her face, Vivian softened her tone slightly.

She sighed. "Look at you, so grown up yet so old-fashioned. Don't tell me you believe that 'purity' crap for some future husband.

That's just patriarchal oppression! So outdated! Don't cage yourself with those rules. Live free! Do what makes you happy!"

She patted Chloe's shoulder sagely. "A truly empowered woman learns to use her body for her own pleasure."

Chloe was convinced. She called it all a "misunderstanding," said she and the guy were just "playing," and signed a waiver right there.

While Chloe and the guy sorted paperwork, Vivian and I was waiting outside. She looked me over again.

Suddenly, she smiled and walked over.

"Hey, handsome. Jason, right? Let's swap numbers?"
