After my son's high fever subsided, a heavy sense of dread washed over me. I decided to take him for a full medical check-up.

When the blood type report was handed to me, my heart stopped. His blood type didn't match mine, and it didn't match my husband's either.

Desperate for answers, I sent samples from the three of us for a DNA test.

The results were a nightmare. My husband was the biological father, but I had no biological connection to the boy I had raised as my own.

As I stood there in shock, the nanny's voice suddenly pierced through my mind like a jagged blade. It was her inner thoughts.

You stupid bitch! Are you finally getting suspicious?

I swapped your brat years ago. That boy you cherish is actually my biological son, the future heir to the Cillian's fortune!

My face went bloodless. It felt like I had been plunged into a lake of ice.

I rushed back to the hospital where I had given birth and grabbed a staff member, my grip trembling with rage.

"Was there a baby girl born at the same time as me that day?" I screamed.

The staff member avoided my gaze, his voice thick with hesitation.

"The records... well, the records show that the child went missing..."

I clutched the DNA test results, my knuckles white as I stepped into the house. Before I could say a word, I heard voices coming from the living room.

Rosalie was leaning against Cillian's chest, her fingers tracing slow, suggestive circles over his heart.

"Cillian, you hired me as your live-in nanny. Aren't you afraid Seraphina will be upset if she finds out about us?"

Cillian's voice was cold and indifferent, lacking even a hint of guilt. "She's lucky to have someone taking care of her daily needs. She should be grateful."

Next to them, Cillian's childhood friend started hooting and cheering.

"Rosalie is so much more attentive and gentle. She runs circles around Seraphina."

"Seraphina probably has no clue that Rosalie has been by your side for three years. Right from the moment you two got married."

"She really thinks she's the queen of the Cillian Empire. In reality, she's absolutely nothing to him."

My heart twisted into a knot, and the metallic taste of blood filled my mouth.

It was him. He was the one behind all of this.

Not only that, but he had been keeping Rosalie as his mistress for three years.

I had been a complete and utter fool.

On the way home, I was still making excuses for him. I kept telling myself he must have a difficult reason for the blood type discrepancy.

But everyone was lying to me!

The noises from the room grew louder and more intimate. Swallowing the bile rising in my throat, I turned and walked out of the house.

I dialed a number I hadn't called in years. It was Xavier, my childhood best friend and a billionaire living abroad.

The call connected, and his deep, steady voice came through.

"Sera?"

I didn't waste time with small talk. I went straight to the point. "I'm ready to move abroad with you. But you have to promise me two things."

"First, I want you to intercept and crush every single one of the Cillian family's overseas business deals."

"Second, help me find my missing daughter."

"Consider it done," he replied without hesitation.

I went back inside and acted as if nothing had happened. I played the role of the devoted wife Cillian was so proud of.

Meanwhile, I spent every waking moment secretly investigating the whereabouts of my stolen child.

It was the anniversary of my parents' death.

Cillian came home early from the office and wrapped his arms around me.

"I've prepared everything your parents would have liked. We'll go to the memorial park together tomorrow to pay our respects."

I nodded obediently, masking the loathing in my eyes.

Cillian patted my head and pressed a kiss onto my forehead.

Looking at his retreating back, memories flooded my mind.

He had chased me for three years during college.

When my parents suddenly passed away in a car accident, my world turned black.

He was the one who stayed by my side every second. He kept whispering, "Don't be afraid, Sera. I'll always be here. I'll love you forever."

That warmth was once my only lifeline in a stormy sea.

A cold, bitter smile touched my lips.

I guess "forever" only lasts until the next shiny thing comes along.

The man who once treated me like a treasure had become a monster I didn't recognize.

The next day, Cillian and I got into the car.

To my surprise, Rosalie was already sitting in the passenger seat.

When she saw me, her eyes crinkled into a fake, sweet smile as she greeted me.

I shot a glance at Cillian, but he acted as if nothing was wrong and reached out to hold my hand.

My face went pale, and I instinctively jerked my hand away.

Cillian immediately gripped my hand again, his face full of feigned concern.

"What's wrong? Is seeing your parents today making you sad again?"

Before I could answer, Rosalie piped up from the front.

"The Mistress probably skipped breakfast. Her blood sugar must be low. I prepared some warm oatmeal for the Master, maybe she should have some."

Cillian's eyes flickered. He took the oatmeal and began feeding it to me, spoon by spoon.

We soon arrived at the memorial park.

As I was kneeling in front of the graves, Rosalie's inner voice drifted into my mind again.

Stupid bitch. You really think he loves you.

He brought me along today just because he wanted to try something more thrilling.

I looked up and caught Rosalie looking at Cillian with eyes full of unfiltered lust.

After the ceremony, Cillian looked down at me.

"Sera, I know you want some private time to talk to your parents. I'll wait for you outside."

I grabbed his sleeve, my eyes pleading. "Can you stay with me? Please?"

Cillian pulled my hand off him, his expression turning cold. "Sera, I'll be just outside. Be a good girl."

He turned and walked away without a second look.

I followed him quietly and watched as the two of them slipped into a secluded corner behind the restrooms.

The sound of muffled gasps and the rustle of fabric soon reached my ears.

"Cillian... no... don't. It's her parents' memorial day."

Ha! Cheating right in front of her parents' graves. Cillian really does love this kind of thrill.

If Seraphina knew that while she's kneeling and crying, her husband is pinning me against a wall...

Tsk. How pathetic.

Hearing Rosalie's thoughts, a bitter, hollow laugh escaped me.

She was right. I was pathetic.

"Don't say such depressing things. If you stay quiet, she won't find out."

"Besides, isn't this exactly what you wanted?"

Cillian bit Rosalie's earlobe, his voice thick with urgency.

"You're the one who wanted the excitement, Master. I'm just playing along."

"Yes, it's me, baby. Just be good for me," Cillian whispered, his tone overflowing with affection.

The blood in my veins turned to ice.

They were actually doing this at the site where my parents rested in peace!

My eyes turned blood-red as I charged toward them.

I lunged forward and dragged the disheveled Rosalie out of the corner, delivering a thunderous slap to her face!

The crisp sound of the strike shattered the silence of the park.

Cillian panicked, trying to grab me to explain.

Rosalie slumped to the ground, clutching her face and wailing. "Cillian, it hurts so much! Is my face going to be ruined?"

Cillian stopped in his tracks and turned to scoop her up. He barked at me, "Apologize to her!"

A sense of utter absurdity washed over me.

I raised my hand and slapped Cillian even harder than I had hit her!

He lunged forward and grabbed my wrist, flinging me away with brutal force.

I stumbled back, my feet catching on the grass, and I fell hard. The back of my head slammed against the sharp edge of a stone monument.

A sickening thud echoed, and my vision exploded into a blur of crimson.

I stood there for a moment, feeling a deathly chill seep into my bones.

Even though I already knew about their affair, seeing it with my own eyes made it hard to breathe.

Today was the day my parents died. This was their final resting place.

Pain erupted in my skull, and everything turned red.

The last thing I saw was Cillian tenderly checking Rosalie's face, never once looking back at me.

When I woke up again in the hospital, the sharp scent of disinfectant stung my nose.

Cillian immediately grabbed my hand, his voice urgent. "Sera, you're finally awake!"

I yanked my hand back with all my strength. "Don't touch me."

He frowned and let out a long sigh. "What happened with Rosalie was an accident. I was drugged, Sera. You've been so moody lately, and I didn't want to force you."

I knew he would lie.

I just didn't expect such a pathetic, childish excuse.

I got pregnant only three months after our wedding.

Yet his child with Rosalie was born on the exact same day as mine.

He had betrayed me almost the moment we said "I do."

"Where is Rosalie?" I asked, my voice cold as ice.

Cillian looked troubled. "Sera, this wasn't Rosalie's fault. Besides, you're the one who got violent. You should be the one apologizing."

"You want me to apologize to your mistress?" I almost laughed out loud.

His face darkened. "Don't call her that. She's my woman too."

"Master Cillian..."

A frail voice came from the doorway.

Rosalie was standing there in a white dress, her eyes red and puffy. She was holding a thermos, looking like a kicked puppy.

Her voice trembled, and she suddenly fell to her knees with a loud thud.

"Mistress, it's all my fault."

"Please don't blame the Master. If you want to hit someone, hit me."

She began banging her head against the floor repeatedly.

Cillian immediately rushed to her side, his heart breaking for her. "Seraphina! Look at what you've pushed her to do!"

Rosalie crawled toward me, trying to grab the hem of my pants.

But the moment she touched me, she suddenly flew backward as if I had shoved her.

Cillian rushed to catch her, failing to notice that my waist slammed hard against the bed rail in the commotion.

The pain made me grit my teeth.

He didn't even look at me. He just scooped Rosalie up and ran out of the room.

After they left, a video was sent to my phone.

It was a recording of Cillian and Rosalie making out right inside my hospital room while I was unconscious.

Rosalie was draped over him like she had no bones, looking terrified.

"Cillian, the Mistress knows now. What if she wakes up and fires me?"

Cillian held her tight, his voice full of arrogance.

"You're my woman. I'd like to see anyone try to touch you."

With that, he tilted her chin up and kissed her deeply.

The fact that they were doing this disgusting shit right next to my bed made me shake with rage. I slammed the phone onto the floor.

That evening, Cillian returned with Rosalie.

She walked up to me, carrying a bowl of soup.

"Mistress, I am so sorry. I made this soup specifically for you. Please, have some."

I rejected her instantly. "Get that away from me. It's filthy."

Rosalie looked devastated. "I know you look down on me because I'm the nanny, but I'm not dirty. I shower every day."

Cillian couldn't take it anymore. His voice boomed with anger.

"Seraphina, that's enough! Rosalie already apologized. What more do you want?"

He marched over and grabbed my jaw in a painful grip.

He forced the soup down my throat, ignoring my muffled screams.

I added a little something extra to this soup. You're going to love it.

Since you dared to bully me, this is the Master's punishment for you. You're going to make a total fool of yourself in front of the whole hospital.

I heard Rosalie's thoughts and looked at Cillian in disbelief.

A wave of unnatural heat began to surge through my body.

Cillian gave me a cold, detached look. "Zack is home alone. I'm going back to take care of him."

As they walked away, my eyes turned bloodshot from the internal fire.

I bit down on my tongue until the taste of iron filled my mouth.

I fought with everything I had to keep my mind clear.

I crawled to the bathroom, step by agonizing step. The cold water from the shower helped clear my head a little.

When dawn broke, I had been under the cold spray all night.

My body was shivering violently, and I felt completely drained of strength.

the effect of whatever they gave me wore off, but my hatred only grew.

I clenched my fists so hard my nails drew blood.

I closed my eyes and let the darkness finally take me.

On the day I was discharged, Cillian came to pick me up with Zack.

He pulled me into his arms and kissed my hair. "It's been so long. Are you still throwing a tantrum?"

I pushed him away in silence.

The ice-cold water that night had completely extinguished any remaining feelings I had for him.

Cillian sighed. "Didn't you say you wanted that new designer bag? I'll take you shopping. I'll make it up to you, okay?"

I looked at him and forced a smile. "Then send her away."

Cillian's expression shifted instantly. Before he could speak, Zack lunged at me.

"You wicked woman! You're trying to kick out Mommy Rosalie!"

I stared at Cillian. He stood there, unable to say a single word of defense.

Mommy Rosalie.

It seemed that while I was gone, they had been playing happy family quite well.

I grabbed my suitcase and headed for the car.

Suddenly, Cillian's phone rang.

"Cillian, help me! They're going to hurt me!"

Cillian's face went pale. "Where are you?"

"I'm at..."

The call cut off before she could finish.

Cillian looked like he was about to lose his mind.

He immediately called his assistant to track Rosalie's phone.

In less than three minutes, he had her location.

Cillian drove us like a madman to a warehouse on the outskirts of town.

His bodyguards arrived and quickly neutralized the men inside the warehouse.

Rosalie was there, her clothes torn and her body shaking in a corner.

When she saw Cillian, she acted as if she had found her savior.

"Cillian, you're finally here."

Cillian pulled her into a tight embrace, like he was holding a priceless treasure. "I'm here, baby."

He turned his eyes, filled with murderous intent, toward the two men being held down.

"Take them out and throw them to the sharks."

The two men turned white as sheets, their bodies trembling.

As they were being dragged past me, one of them shouted.

"Mistress, save us! You told us to do this! You said you'd protect us!"

"Please, save us!"

Cillian's shadow fell over me, his gaze dark and terrifying.

He marched over and wrapped his hand around my throat, squeezing hard.

"You heartless bitch. Didn't I tell you never to touch her?"

He was squeezing so hard I couldn't breathe.

I clawed at his hand, gasping for air.

"Let... let go!"

Cillian's eyes were bloodshot. "Seraphina, marrying you is the biggest regret of my life."

He threw me onto the ground. Then, he delivered a brutal kick to my stomach that left me curled in a ball of agony.

He didn't look at me again. He just picked Rosalie up and walked out.

Zack walked over and stomped on my fingers with his little boots. "You tried to hurt Mommy Rosalie. I hate you."

I was left alone in the middle of nowhere.

The pain in my abdomen was unbearable.

I sat there, my head spinning and my heart shattered.

Looking at the heavy warehouse doors being locked from the outside, a single tear escaped.

Then, I started to laugh. I laughed until it hurt.

The warehouse doors didn't open again.

The sun began to set, and the sky turned a bruised purple.

Cillian had said he was taking Zack and me out for dinner.

I hadn't eaten a thing all day.

My body was reaching its limit.

I was so weak I could barely keep my eyes open.

I crawled toward the door and pounded on the cold metal.

"Is anyone there? Help me!"

Silence.

I was freezing and starving. I huddled in a corner, trying to preserve what little warmth I had left.

I sniffled, feeling my consciousness slipping away.

Just as I thought I was going to die there, the doors finally groaned open.

Cillian walked in, with Rosalie clinging to his arm.

He looked down at me with utter contempt.

"Do you understand what you did wrong yet?"

"Apologize to Rosalie right now, and I might let you out."

I lifted my head and glared at him with pure hatred.

"Wrong? I will never admit to something I didn't do."

Rosalie wanted to frame me, and I would never give her the satisfaction of a confession.

Cillian's eyes turned stone-cold.

Rosalie pulled on his sleeve, acting like a frightened bird.

"Cillian, it's fine. It's my fault. It's all my fault."

"I shouldn't have tried to compete with the Mistress. Please don't be mad at her."

Cillian looked at her with such tenderness it made me sick.

He took her hand in his.

"Don't be afraid. No one gets to bully my woman. If she dares to touch you, she has to pay the price."

"Seraphina, I'm giving you one last chance. Are you going to apologize?"

I used every last bit of my strength to reach up and slap Cillian across the face.

"Apologize? Not in this lifetime."

Cillian pressed his tongue against his cheek, his eyes turning dangerous.

"Since you won't learn your lesson the easy way, I'll teach you the hard way."

He smirked, and two men stepped out from the shadows.

"She's all yours. Make sure you teach her some manners."

"Cillian!" I screamed, my voice cracking.

He just stood there, holding Rosalie.

The two men saw that Cillian was serious. They started walking toward me, rubbing their hands together.

"Hey there, little lady. Let the big boys show you a good time."

I tried to back away, but I was already pinned against the wall. There was nowhere left to run.

My heart hammered against my ribs. "Cillian, do you have any idea what you're doing?"

Cillian didn't even look at me. He was busy playing with Rosalie's hair.

The two men took that as their signal.

One grabbed me by the hair to keep me still, while the other pinned me down.

A wave of pure disgust washed over me.

I kicked out, hitting one of them right between the legs.

He howled in pain and delivered a stinging slap to my face.

Stars exploded in my vision. My strength was gone. I couldn't fight anymore.

Cillian finally spoke.

"Stop."

I looked at him with a glimmer of hope, thinking he had finally found his soul.

But he just reached out and covered Rosalie's eyes.

"Rosalie, you shouldn't have to see something this disgusting. Come on, let's go outside."

He led her out, throwing one last heartless sentence over his shoulder.

"Give her a lesson she'll never forget."

Once he was gone, the two men stopped pretending.

They pinned me down, and I was no match for them.

Their rough hands began to roam over my body.

My clothes were torn to shreds in an instant.

I closed my eyes in total despair.

Cillian, Rosalie... I will haunt you both until the day you die.

Just as I prepared for the worst, the warehouse doors were suddenly kicked open with a thunderous bang.

The men on top of me were thrown off with brutal force.

A jacket was draped over my trembling body.

I looked up. Xavier was standing there, his eyes filled with agonizing pain. He pulled me into a crushing hug.

"Sera, I'm so sorry I'm late."
