Avery swapped her sweatpants for a mini skirt, oblivious to the glowing text floating in front of me that said she was about to be passed around and ruined tonight.

[LMAO, the side character actually put on the mini skirt. What a desperate pick-me. Just wait until she gets passed around tonight!]

[She thinks the male lead actually likes her. Little does she know, he's just using her for practice to pop his cherry, and then throwing her to his bros.]

[Haha, and the stupid girl probably thinks he's some god in bed going seven rounds.]

[Serves her right! That's what she gets for playing the one of the guys card and making our precious female lead jealous. She deserves every bit of it.]

Chapter 1

But the glowing letters hovering in the air spelled out a different story. The glowing letters labeled her a desperate pick-me girl, warning that her bro act was exactly why those guys saw her as easy prey.

It made Avery public enemy number one among the girls. And because she was always glued to the guys, they saw her as easy prey. If she was offering herself up, they might as well take advantage of it.

That was why, at tonight's high school graduation party, they were planning to use her for target practice.

Honestly, I did not understand all this messy adult drama. I only knew one thing Avery was my sister. She always gave me the best snacks and looked out for me.

I was not going to let anyone hurt her.

If these weird floating comments could predict the future, I was going to weaponize them to save her.

My mind was made up. I threw a massive tantrum, clinging to Avery's leg until she finally caved and agreed to bring me to the party. Right before we left, I made sure my smartwatch was fully charged and strapped tightly to my wrist.

The second we stepped into the restaurant, the text started scrolling again.

[WTF, the side character actually brought her little sister? Way to traumatize a kid.]

[Relax, the male lead isn't a total monster. He won't touch the kid. They'll just book two separate hotel rooms. Won't delay the main event.]

[Stick with Tristan and we get a good show. Can't wait for tonight!]

When we pushed open the door to the private dining room, the guys immediately zeroed in on Avery's mini skirt. They nudged each other, their eyes heavy and suggestive.

"Well, well. Look at our favorite bro trying to look all feminine tonight."

"Damn, Ave. Didn't know you were hiding legs like that under those sweats. Absolutely killer."

"For real. I'm practically hypnotized over here."

Then there was Tristan Harrington. The so-called male lead from the comments. He leaned back in his chair, let out a slow, greasy wolf whistle, and curled his index finger at my sister.

Chapter 2

Avery obediently walked over, throwing an arm casually around Tristan's shoulder. "Well? I told you I'd wear the mini skirt. I always follow through, right?"

Tristan reached down and gave her butt a brazen squeeze. "Oh, you always follow through. There is nothing you won't do."

He let out a greasy laugh. "Though it would be a lot better if this skirt was an inch shorter."

Avery punched him lightly in the chest. "Pervert. Even if my skirt was shorter, it still wouldn't be as short as what you're packing."

Tristan smirked. "I know you have a big mouth, but how do you know I come up short?"

"My big mouth is a known fact. You being short is what you just admitted to," she shot back.

The whole room erupted into sleazy, knowing laughter. Right on cue, the floating comments exploded.

[WTF! What a massive pick-me! Draping herself all over the male lead, touching his chest under the guise of being bros. She is so desperate for male attention it is pathetic.]

[Openly making dirty jokes about size in front of her little sister. What a great role model.]

[Slut. She completely deserves to be Tristan's practice dummy. After a whole summer of training with her, his skills are going to be god-tier. Our precious Audrey is so lucky.]

[Wait, isn't that cheating? He has a girlfriend, but he is sleeping with his bro? Practice sounds like a major red flag and a weak excuse.]

[You are so out of touch. Tristan is just terrified his lack of experience will hurt our sweet Audrey! He is forced to practice!]

[Besides, guys do not lose value from sleeping around. Loyalty has nothing to do with it.]

I mentally rolled my eyes at the absolute toxic gaslighting happening in the comments. Most of the party guests were guys. The few girls scattered around the room were clearly used to my sister's behavior. They did not say anything, but I did not miss the visceral disgust etched on their faces.

After doing her rounds with the guys, Avery finally slumped into the chair next to me.

I leaned into her ear. "Ave, why did those guys squeeze your butt?"

She froze, clearly not expecting me to actually pay attention to that. A flash of pure awkwardness crossed her face as she avoided my gaze, scrambling for an excuse. "It is just because they all like me, Nat."

I nodded slowly, pretending to process this golden piece of logic. "Oh. So grabbing butts means you like someone."

I crossed my arms, pouting. "Then tomorrow I am going to tell Cooper to squeeze my butt Hmph! Cooper is a liar, he does not like me at all!"

"Natalie!" Avery hissed, suddenly flicking me hard on the forehead. "Don't you dare let Cooper touch you like that! I will break his legs!"

I rubbed my forehead, putting on my best wounded puppy face. "That is so unfair. Only you are allowed to be liked, but I am not? You are so controlling, Ave."

For the rest of the dinner, whenever someone tried to take advantage of her, Avery shut it down, saying she could not be a bad influence on me. While I was busy destroying a plate of crawfish, Avery suddenly stood up, grabbed a glass of beer, and walked over to Tristan. "Come on, Tristan. Since we are all having a good time today, let's do that linked-arm shot from the dare I lost before."

Oh my god!

My sister was taking this wild act way too far! I finally understood why she made so many enemies.

According to the comments, Avery was supposed to deliberately do this linked-arm shot to piss off the female lead when she arrived. When Tristan tried to chase after Audrey, Avery would fake a dizzy spell and fall into his arms to stop him.

Then, Tristan would give Avery a spiked drink and drag her to a cheap motel to practice his skills unless I could stop him first.

Chapter 3

I quickly poured a glass of Coke and stomped over to Tristan. "Tristan, I want to do a linked-arm shot with you too!"

I threw my entire body weight into Avery, aggressively ramming her out of the way. "Ave, I like Tristan too. Can you give him to me?"

Tristan flashed a slimy smile. "I like you too, little girl."

Avery immediately slammed her fist into his shoulder. "Shut up, you dog. Watch your mouth."

Someone across the table muttered, "What a slut. Both sisters are obsessed with stealing men."

Avery snapped.

She scooped me up, dumped me back into my chair, and marched straight toward the girl who spoke, her fists clenched white. "Who are you calling a slut? Who's stealing men?"

The girl pointed right at Avery's nose, unapologetic. "I'm talking about you, Avery! You know Tristan has a girlfriend, yet you still throw yourself at him, and bringing your little sister to do the same?"

"You have no shame!" she spat, her attitude completely arrogant.

Avery let out a sharp, mocking laugh. "That Harrington dog? You think I'm trying to steal him? I've known that dog for forever."

"If something was going to happen between us, Audrey wouldn't even be in the picture." She added, "Talk trash about me all you want, but say one more word about my sister and I will knock your teeth down your throat."

The girl didn't flinch at the threat. "If you're so capable, then date him! If not, stop using the bro excuse to act like a desperate pick-me!"

"You're a toxic role model. Do you want your sister to grow up and be despised just like you?"

Avery froze.

The blood drained from her face. It was like the words physically paralyzed her, locking her muscles in place.

I followed her blank gaze toward the door.

Audrey had arrived.

The seat next to Tristan had been empty all night. Avery had tried to sit there earlier, but he wouldn't let her. He had been saving it for Audrey.

Right now, Tristan was meticulously wiping the table for Audrey. He poured her drink, treating her like absolute royalty. Words can lie, but actions don't.

Tristan didn't actually like my sister. He just loved the ego trip of keeping her around as a desperate backup option.

"See?" the girl sneered. "Audrey is the main character. She's the only one who deserves to sit next to him. What the hell are you, Avery?"

Meanwhile, the floating text was going ballistic.

[I feel so bad for the side character's little sister. Having a shameless sister like that is an absolute curse.]

[Wait, hasn't anyone noticed the timeline is glitching? The side character still hasn't taken the spiked drink. In the original plot, they should already be hooking up in the cheap motel by now.]

[The little sister doesn't act like a kid. She's way too calculated. And it's almost like she can read our comments. Every single thing she does is dismantling the main plot!]

[WTF! Can she actually see the comments?!]

Damn right I can see them, you idiots!
