To get back her dead mom's stuff, my husband was going to fight in some underground boxing match.

Last time around, Id had a sudden heart attack, and hed bailed on the fight to rush me to the hospital.

His childhood sweetheart, Brittany, never got her moms things back and jumped off a building.

Calm as you please, Hank took care of everything, then, on the seventh day after her death, hed taped me up in a punching bag and beat me to death.

"You faked that heart attack so Id miss my chance, you killed Brittany! Now youre going to pay!"

I woke up, heart pounding, back on that day again, but this time, I wasn't calling Hank.

He was so eager to play hero, let him go for it.

I hit the floor, clutching my chest.

The memories from the last life were a punch in the gut. My husband, Hank, a pro boxer, slamming his fists into me, using me as a human punching bag until I died. The pain was still fresh.

Waking up on that fateful day, I didn't give him a ring.

I wouldn't stop him from risking it all for his precious Brittany.

But when I dialed 911, it was his buddy, Josh, who picked up.

"A heart attack? Come on, Wendy, you're laying it on thick. I know you're worried about Hank and trying to stop him from fighting, but you don't have to curse yourself to do it!"

Josh thought I couldn't get a hold of Hank and was calling him instead, making up some lame heart attack excuse.

"No, thats not it at all, I dont need Hank

"Wendy, I get it. A little jealousy is natural, especially when it's a goddess like Brittany."

Josh launched into a lecture. My breath was getting short; I couldn't die right now.

What was the point of being reborn?

I gritted my teeth and told him to stop talking nonsense. "Send an ambulance to my house, pronto! If I die, it's your fault. This isn't about Hank."

"Wendy, I'm only not calling you out for wasting emergency services 'cause you're Hank's wife."

"Women, honestly, why so petty? Hank's a free man, he can risk his neck for whoever he wants.

Josh huffed and hung up. He really thought I was a drama queen.

The little things we had in the house were not worth a public service! I was just throwing a fit and embarrassing Hank.

They were thicker than thieves, but I never thought Josh would be so reckless.

He didn't even bother to check if I was telling the truth before hanging up.

My vision was blurring, and I barely had the strength to touch the phone. If things kept going this way, I was dead!

Last time, when Hank was on his way to that illegal boxing match to win back Brittany's mom's keepsake, I'd called him back.

Hed rushed me to the hospital, stayed for the surgery, and missed his chance.

When he finally got to the venue, his opponent, a chump he'd beaten countless times before, had already won.

Hank saw the disappointment in Brittanys eyes and apologized.

But Brittany never saw him again. Days later, word came that she was dead.

To get that keepsake back, shed slept with the winner, a violent scumbag.

Hed abused her, left her covered in bruises, and still didn't give back what was hers. Brittany couldn't take it and jumped.

Hank had cleaned up her body and arranged the funeral, but he never blamed me.

Then, on the seventh day of Brittany's passing, he drugged me, tied me to a punching bag, and beat me into oblivion.

"You faked a heart attack and made me miss my shot. That guy was a nobody; it was a guaranteed win."

"It's all your fault, you killed Brittany! I should have just let you die!"

"Wendy, how could I marry such a nasty woman?

He punched me until my ears rang, my whole body ached.

He blamed me for Brittany's death, said I had to pay.

"She only had her mom, that thing was the last memory of her, and it was keeping her alive until you got jealous."

In the end, Hank beat me to death. He still wasn't satisfied and said he never wanted to see me again in the next life.

He called me a jinx, said I deserved to die a hundred times over.

I was shaking so bad, but I managed to redial. This time, Josh didn't answer.

I gave my address and a quick rundown of my situation.

"Heart attack?"

"Not her again," Josh snatched the phone from the other guy. "Seriously, Wendy, how many times are you going to pull this stunt? Get over it!"

"Josh, this is an emergency! Send an ambulance."

"Don't fall for it. This woman's a con artist. If it weren't for her trapping Hank, Brittany would've married him long ago.

Josh was going on about my past, that graduation party night. Wed both had too much to drink.

I'd been crushing on Hank forever. He was a boxer and such a stand-up guy.

On my first day of college, some creep was taking pictures of me on the subway. Hank chased him off and made him apologize.

He told me creeps like that deserved a beatdown and told me to be careful.

I had a crush on him for four years. That night, we both drank a lot, then we got locked in a room together.

We talked, and then, out of nowhere, he pulled me close.

He kissed me, hot as hell, and the moon was beautiful that night.

Hank was a beast that night, and I didn't pull away. I thought he loved me.

Turns out, it was a setup. Someone had drugged Hank, and he was convinced I was behind it.

Brittany had "accidentally" seen my diary, which was full of my Hank fantasies. After that night, Hank said he'd take responsibility and marry me.

But he hated me for it. Even after all those years of marriage, he never touched me.

He thought I was a tramp, and no matter what I said, he thought I tricked him.

"Wendy, get real, Hank's already left and is probably in the ring. Stop stirring up trouble.

Josh's coworker didn't want to take the risk, so he decided to send an ambulance.

Josh snickered, "I'm telling you, this woman's playing you. No wonder Hank's hung up on Brittany. Maybe you should look in the mirror."

I was fading fast, almost passed out, but I heard the siren.

I was rushed to the hospital and survived, thanks to the early intervention. I was in a hospital bed, the doctor told me to rest up.

Josh showed up as soon as I woke up. I thought he would apologize for the mistake.

But he didn't think twice. "You're a real actress, Wendy. You even fooled the head of the emergency department. Did you sneak in a workout to fake the heart attack?"

""

I told Josh to get out, saying Hank had sent him to take care of me.

"You're fine, I'll give Hank a call."

"Are you always this irresponsible with your patients?" I snapped. This was turning into a murder plot.

Josh got through to Hank. He hadn't gone on stage yet but had arrived with Brittany. It was pretty loud there.

"Wendy's fine, totally alive and well, Hank. Don't worry."

Hanks voice was icy. He said he was glad he hadnt come back and been fooled by me.

"You are low, can't you be a little more understanding? I married you, what more do you want?"

Hank lectured me. He had to get ready and didn't have time to argue.

I was exhausted and just wanted some sleep when Brittany took the phone.

She even started a live stream. Brittany went into "poor me" mode. "It's all my fault, I asked Hank, you guys wouldn't be fighting. Wendy, just this once, can I borrow Hank?"

Brittany said that thing was important and wasn't trying to argue with me.

They were all shocked. Usually, I'd throw a fit and demand an explanation from Hank.

But today, I was just tired. In the past, I'd poured my heart out, offering my love to Hank.

He didn't even look, just stomped all over it.

He'd ask why I always had to make things difficult for Brittany, he married me to have a good life, but I was always acting up.

"Wendy, you're worried about Hank too, right? I'll stream it for you.

Brittany was showing off. She said these underground venues were dangerous and that you were on your own.

Id seen her social media, she posted a photo of Hank's back, caption: The best childhood friend in the world, would risk his life for me!

Hank replied "For sure," I even liked that post.

The noise was irritating me. "I don't want to watch, get out! The doctor said I need rest.

"Come on, Wendy, Brittany's doing this just for you." Josh wouldn't let it go, he was so annoying.

"If I were you, I'd be writing my resignation letter now."

Hanging up on my call for help was a huge mistake. If I died, Josh would be in big trouble.

I wasn't going to let him off the hook.

Josh's face changed. "We're not enemies, Wendy, don't make me mad."

"What's wrong, Josh?" Brittany acted all sweet. She said to let it out on her. "I'm sorry, Wendy, I asked Josh to help."

I was recording everything, just in case. These people were crazy, not even human.

I was going to be careful this time, every step planned out.

Then there was a shout, Brittany screamed, cheering for Hank.

"It's starting, Wendy! Hank's at his hottest up there, have you ever seen him fight?"

""

Brittany was bragging. If this was the last time, I'd be crushed, the man I've loved for years would have no problem risking his life for Brittany, I was jealous.

I was willing to make their dream come true.

But not by trampling over my dead body.

The fight was getting intense. I closed my eyes, but suddenly, I heard gasps on the phone.

Brittany's voice was shaking. "What happened? What's wrong with Hank?"

I opened my eyes and saw Hank lying motionless on the stage. The screen went black!

Could he be dead?
