My mouth was stuffed with a dirty Christmas stocking that smelled rancid. I jolted awake, my fingertips pressing against the stiff, uncomfortable fabric.

Oh, you're awake? Lucy Lynn's coquettish voice came from the other end of the sofa.

Lucy was curled up on Alex Fisher's sofa, playing on her phone while wearing my silk bathrobe, her red nails glaringly bright.

"Was that you?" I yanked out the stocking, my throat dry and hoarse.

"If not me, then who?" Lucy shook her smooth ankle. "Who told you to cling to Mrs. Fisher's spot? Alex has been tired of you for a long time."

My head feels like it's splitting open; I still remember waiting for him until dawn last night on Christmas Eve.

"Alex Fisher wouldn't let you do this." I clenched my fists tightly.

Lucy Lynn suddenly burst out laughing and brushed back the long hair by her neck: "Look at thiswhat do you think it is?"

Under the lights, the limited edition necklace around her neck dazzled me painfullyonly three exist worldwide, worth nearly ten million, bought with my parents' inheritance.

The villa's front door was pushed open, and Alex Fisher walked in, exuding a cold aura.

"Alex!" Lucy immediately rushed over and nestled against him. "Laura has woken up, and she doesn't seem very happy."

Alex Fisher walked in coldly, shooting me a glare and frowning, "What are you causing trouble about now?"

"Me, causing trouble?" I pointed tremblingly at my mouth, "She shoved dirty socks in my mouth. What do you think I'm making a fuss about?"

"Lucy's young; she's just playing around." He patted Lucy on the back, then glared at me, "Can't you just cut her some slack?"

"Playing around?" I pointed at the necklace, "Alex Fisher, how much did this 'toy' cost?"

Lucy clutched her neck tightly; Alex avoided my gaze and said, "It's a high-quality fakeshe liked it, so I bought it."

"Counterfeit?" I laughed out loud, "It's engraved with a unique serial number on the inside. Want me to take it off and check?"

His face went pale as he gripped my wrist tightly. "Laura Scott, don't push your luck!"

I pulled away from him. "Last month you said the company was short on cash and tricked me into investing my parents' inheritance. And this 'counterfeit' is what you bought?"

Alex Fisher's eyes flickered, but he didn't say a word.

"Not only are you cheating, you lied to me for money to please your mistress. It disgusts me."

"The company really is struggling! That money was for operations!" Alex shouted.

"Operations require a necklace and an haute couture gown priced at a million?" I stared at his luxury watchthe one I gave him as a wedding gift. "Where's your conscience?"

Lucy poked her head out. "Alex and I are sincere; he just hasn't said it out loud yet."

"Using my money to claim sincerity? You both are shameless."

He raised his hand to hit me, but I turned my head to dodge. "Alex Fisher, try touching me."

His hand froze in midair but finally dropped. "This isn't a place for you to make a scene."

"Ever since you both stepped through that door, this has never been my home." I turned and walked to the foyer to make a call.

Alex chased after me. "What are you doing? Don't make a big deal out of our marriage!"

"What do you think you're doing?" Alex Fisher frowned.

I pressed the dial key. "Get Mr. Clark to bring the bodyguardssomeone's broken in and is hurting people."

"Are you out of your mind?" Alex stepped forward to snatch the phone. "Do we need to drag outsiders into our marital issues?"

He tried to grab the phone, but I dodged aside and shouted into the receiver, "Mr. Clark, the villahurry!"

"Laura Scott, you're crazy!" Alex yelled, grabbing my arm.

I shrugged him off, hung up, and sneered at his pale face.

After hanging up, I looked at Alex Fisher's pale face, a cold smile curling at the corner of my mouth.

Lucy Lynn snapped at me, "Don't you have any shame?"

"I don't have any shame?" I stepped closer, "Wearing my bathrobe, wearing the necklace bought with my moneywho are you to say that to me?"

She ducked behind Alex, and he stood protectively in front of her: "Laura, don't make a scene. Let's sit down and talk."

Alex stood in front of Lucy, shielding her: "Laura, stop causing trouble. Let's sit down and discuss this calmly."

"How can you use my parents' money to support your mistress?"

No sooner had the words fallen than Mr. Clark entered with four bodyguards. "Young madam, are you alright?"

"Hold them back! They broke in illegally and even stole from me." I pointed directly at Alex Fisher and Lucy Lynn.

"How dare you!" Alex tried to push the bodyguards but was pinned down, unable to move.

"I'm the man of the house! Let me go!" he shouted, struggling.

Lucy turned pale. "These were gifts from Alex, not stolen."

"He used my inheritance to give them to you? That makes it stolen property." I turned to Mr. Clark. "Bring over the notarized documents for the study's assets."

"They're marital joint property! He has the right to manage them!" Lucy Lynn argued fiercely.

"Marital joint property?" I laughed aloud and looked at Mr. Clark. "Mr. Clark, bring over the notarized documents for my study's assets."

Alex Fisher panicked. "When did you get this notarized?"

"The first time you laid claim to my inheritance." I took the notarized documents and handed them over. "Look closely. This has nothing to do with you."

Lucy's face flushed a confusing mix of red and white; she was rendered speechless.

Take off the necklace. I ordered the bodyguard.

"No! It's mine!" Lucy screamed, clutching her neck.

The bodyguard swiftly removed the necklace, and I pointed at her bathrobe. "Take that off too; it's mine as well."

"Laura Scott, you've gone too far!" Alex's eyes blazed with fury.

"Gone too far? Did you ever think about me when you were fooling around with her?"

Humiliated, Lucy took off the bathrobe and wrapped herself in a blanket. I instructed Mr. Clark, "Go upstairs and search. Take everything she's hiding."

"Yes, Young madam." Mr. Clark immediately went upstairs with two bodyguards.

Alex Fisher stared at me. "Since when did you become so ruthless?"

"You left me no choice." I crouched in front of him. "You betrayed our relationship."

"Our years together..." His voice trembled.

"It ended the moment you shoved dirty socks into my mouth."

Soon, the bodyguards came down carrying luxury items worth no less than twenty million.

I picked up the evening gown tag. "Last month you said salaries couldn't be paid and asked me to redeem the fund for cash flowthis is what you bought?"

I glanced over itit was worth no less than twenty million. "Alex Fisher," I said, picking up an evening gown tag. "Last month, you told me the company was so tight it could barely pay its staff, and you asked me to redeem my fund to bail you out, right?"

He turned his face away. "The money went into the company; these were bought by her herself."

"She doesn't have a job. Where did she get the money to buy limited edition bracelets?" I shook the luxury bracelet. He completely wilted.

Lucy Lynn cried, "Laura, I was wrong. I'll leave right now."

"You think you can just leave after returning the stuff? It's not that simple."

Alex Fisher snapped, "You really want to finish me off completely?"

"This is only the beginning." I smoothed my collar.

Under the crystal chandelier, Alex Fisher was pinned down on the sofa, while Lucy Lynn curled up in the corner.

I said to Mr. Clark, "Take off his suit and watch."

"Mr. Clark," I said to the butler, "take off Alex Fisher's suit and watch as well."

"Those are mine!" Alex shouted angrily, looking up.

"Yours?" I raised an eyebrow. "The suit was my birthday gift, and the watch was our third wedding anniversary present. Now I'm taking them back."

"You gave it to me willingly!" he said, stiffening his neck.

"I give it to my husband, not to some lying mistress."

The bodyguard stepped forward, pulling off his suit jacket and taking off his watch.

"And the expensive belt," I added.

"You poisonous woman! I was blind to marry you!" he said, trembling with fury.

"Likewise, I was blind to trust you too."

Lucy whispered, "Alex, let's go now."

"You can't leave." I shook my phone, "The evidence has already been sent to my lawyer."

"What are you trying to do?" His voice trembled.

"I'll claim the assets, divorce you, and make you walk away with nothing."

"Impossible! The villa was bought after we got married; half of it is mine!" he shouted.

"It was bought with the money from selling my old house, and the property deed bears only my name." "The prenup says if you cheat, you walk away with nothing." I said coldly, and he instantly crumbled.

The bodyguard brought over a limited-edition crystal shoe. I looked at Lucy Lynn: "Using my money to flaunt luxury, living even better than I am."

I glanced at the pair of shoes worth over a hundred thousand: "Lucy Lynn, you really know how to enjoy yourselfusing my money to dress up and living more lavishly than the rightful owner."

She lowered her head and begged, "I'll give everything back to youjust don't report us."

"Whether to report it or not is my decision." I asked Mr. Clark to have the items sent to the law firm.

"Yes, Young madam."

Alex Fisher suddenly looked up and said, "Laura, I've broken up with Lucy. Can we start over? I'll give you shares in the company."

"Do you think I'm someone you can call at will and dismiss just as easily?" I laughed out loud.

"I'm truly remorseful!" he said urgently. "I'll give you half the company's shares, and from now on, you'll control the family's finances. How about that?"

"Your company has long been nothing but an empty shell. Stop pretending." I stared at him, "For us, there's nothing left but divorce."

Alex Fisher's face flickered, pale one moment, flushed the next.

"I'm telling you, Alex," I said, looking him straight in the eyes, "there's nothing left between us except divorce."

"You're really heartless." His voice was full of despair.

"The heartless one is you." I turned away. "From the day you betrayed me, it's over between us."

Lucy threw herself into his arms, crying, "Alex, I'm so scared. Will she report us?"

Alex Fisher glared at me fiercely. "Laura Scott, don't get too cocky. If you push me too far, I'm capable of anything."

"I, Laura Scott, have never been afraid of threats." I pressed the record button.

The recording clearly captured his voice cheating me out of the inheritance, and his conversation with Lucy Lynn saying, "Laura Scott is rich."

"You forged this!" He looked pale.

"With a timestamp to verify it, who would the judge believe?" I sneered.

Lucy broke down, pointing at him and shouting, "You lied to me! Saying you'd divorce and marry me was just using me!"

"Shut up!" Alex Fisher shouted angrily.

"Why should I shut up? It's all over now!" The two of them struggled, cursing each other.

I said to Mr. Clark, "Lock them in the guest room and wait for the lawyer."

"Yes, Young madam."

The bodyguards dragged the still-arguing pair away, and the living room finally fell silent.

Five years of marriage, over at last.
